Friday (Day 8)

Altoona Regional Hospital.
March 5, 2010. (Day 8)

Me on my way to take a shower...they had to cover my CVC. Take a good look at this, b/c when I took my shower this time, all the water leaked into my central line and it was a mess. The water was everywhere, and they had to clean the bandage, which meant they had to take all the bandages off, clean the area (which burned like liquid fire), and then they gave me my pain shot!
I look kinda funny!

Then my morning was made all better cause more visitors stopped by. Joyce Brubaker, a lady from my church, spent the morning with me. She is oh so very sweet. She really brightened my morning. She's also very gorgeous. She has a wonderful husband and two beautiful, sweet daughters. Thanks for stopping up, Joyce! (:
Joyce & Me.

Joyce brought me things to cheer me up. Can you tell she knew that I absolutely LOVED polka dots? She bought me a polka dot balloon, yellow cheerful flowers in a polka dot vase. I really wanted to take it with me to Pitt, but thought it'd be too much to haul in the ambulance. So I sent it home for my family to enjoy them!
Thanks, Joyce!
(The flowers were my fav!)

Me & Bobbi Jo, my newest BFF! (:

Bobbi Jo didn't like the picture above, haha...so we decided to make silly faces for fun! And, honey child, it was fun. Bobbi Jo has also been a real encouragement to me thru all this. I got her into texting (I tend to get people hooked on texting:) and we text every now and again. Haha...anyway, she had to stop up to Altoona to pick up some things, and she stopped by to visit me and give me a hug!! (I love hugs...and kisses!)
Our Silly faces...Haha...We're Awesome!

O' Course there's a FEET PICTURE! (:

/\/\/\ Going to PITT!!! /\/\/\

Me on the gurney...Doug & Caden watching

The back doors o' the ambulance.

They escorted me to my room and everyone stared at us. Brad drove the ambulance and Austin sat in the back with me. It was a long trip, and by the time I got to Pitt, I was feeling the two and a half hour ride. Haha...Brad and Austin drive to Pitt regularly, and as tradition they always go out to eat after the trip. They all were going to out to eat and were telling me about the restaurant they were going to. Haha...it sounded really good. It would've killed my stomach, but it sounded good. So then they giggled (since we all know guys giggle...sorry wrong choice o' word) when I told them that I needed a picture o' them both for my blog. Haha...but they new I was sick and in pain and they were willing to play along. Haha...thanks guys! (:

MaGee Women's Hospital.
300 Halket Street, Pittsburgh

I finally made it to Pittsburgh, it only took a few days! Here are a few pictures o' my room. This is all the information that I guess I need. My room number and my phone number. Also, it has my nurse (Kenny), who was amazing. He actually was very good. When I arrived my pain level was pretty extreme. Down here, they don't like to use shots for pain relief, they prefer to use pills. The pills obviously don't work as quickly, so when they gave me my pill it didn't really help. They put a call out for my doctors, which they called back and doubled the dose. We'll see if that helps. Hopefully...Also the Nurse's Aid, Liz did my vitals. I didn't get pictures o' either o' them. Hopefully Kenny will work again so I can get my picture with them.
My Info Board.

In this hospital, they don't bring me food at 7 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m. They bring it up when you call. It's more like room service. There is a slip o' paper that has everything I can order. Mine is pink b/c I'm on clear liquids. Whenever I want something, I call down (1-M-E-A-L), order what I want, they bring it to my room within thirty minutes.
Telephone & Menu Card.

/\/\/\ My Doctors /\/\/\

Friday night, my doctors came in to visit me and give me game plan. These two guy are so amazing. They really were concerned about my situation and the fact that all the other doctors were too scared to "take my case", so they were pretty excited to take the challenge and "fix me all up". The game plan is intense, which includes buttload o' tests over the next couple days. They'll get the results from the tests and go over them to decide the best way to handle the situation.

Dr. McBee & Dr. Richard

Bring on tomorrow (Saturday)...lots o' tests and hopefully some answers.

THE END!!!
