Christmas 2009

Traveling to Doug & Heidi's House
For Christmas Adam and I decided to stop, spend the night at Doug and Heidi's house, and then travel the rest o' the way to Ohio. We decided to break up the trip to make it easier to travel. On our way to Heidi and Dougs we had to stop to get gas AND clean off the windshield. As you can see the from the picture below, it was just a bit dirty.

Before the cleaning o' the windshield.

After the cleaning o' the windshield.

Adam is SO silly.
Supper Time
For supper we stopped in Philipsburgh at KFC/Taco Bell. It's actually kind o' funny b/c it was one building, one cash register, one menu, one drive thru, but they sold both KFC and Taco Bell.

I got KFC:
Chicken, Green Beans, & Mashed Taters.

Adam got Taco Bell.
2 Steak Chalupas, 1 Soft Shell Taco, Large Dew.

Heidi & Dougs...FINALLY

After roughly 3 hours, we made it to Doug and Heidi's house. We got there around 9 p.m. and stayed up and talked till 11 p.m. Then we headed off to bed. It had been a long time since we had gotten to sleep in and we ended up sleeping in till 9:45 a.m. It felt WONDERFUL. We got up, dressed, packed, ate, and then we played with Caden before we left for Ohio.

Good Mornin' Baby Caden!

I love these chubby cheaks.

Look at these eyes...

Caden has been pulling himself up a lot more recently. While we were here, Caden pulled himself up on the piano bench and took a nasty tumble. He fell and hit his head on the leg o' the piano. Even though he hit pretty good, he only cried about 7 seconds. What a tough li'l kid. Anyway, I tried really hard to get a picture o' his bump on his head. Here is the best I could do.

Caden's Boo-Boo.

Good mother put ice on Caden's bump.

Caden wasn't too thrilled about it.

Off to OHIO...FINALLY!

It
was now time to head off to Ohio. We set the Garmin directions and pressed GO! We were leaving at 11:00 and it would put us in Ohio at 3:19 p.m! Off we went...

Every time we go to Ohio, I try REALLY hard to try to get a picture o' the "Welcome to Ohio" sign, and every time I miss it! Well, this time, I was VERY close. If you notice this is the top o' the winshield and the roof o' the car. Where is the Ohio sign you may ask? Well, if you use your x-ray vision thru the roof o' the car, you would be able to see the Ohio sign.

My failed attempt at the "Welcome to Ohio" sign.

My awesome gum...
It's lime green with red speckles in it.
Just like Christmas! (:

You gotta have a "Feet Picture"!!
On the way, my stomach got really nauseous. For my nausea, I can take Zofran (a pill used to prevent nausea in patients taking chemotherapy) OR I can drink some pickle juice or eat a pickle. Hmm...So we decided to stop at McDonalds and get some pickles. Please notice the McDonald's Receipt below the first line o' things that we ordered...yup, that's the pickles that I wanted.
Gotta have my pickle Juice!

We Made It...
We arrived at Dad & Mom Finnegan's house around 3:00 p.m. No accidents, only one stop to get pickles, other than that it was a fabulously LONG ride.

Dad & Mom's Christmas Tree.

Playing with Hannah.
Lovely bracelets, right?

What a cutie...

Putting the "braclets" on the pole.
Hannah and Uncle Adam.

She's SO smart! She did it!!

Hannah was playing with my phone. Called my brother and talked for 1 m 36 s. w/o us knowing. It was really funny. We also called my phone from other phones and she would answer and talk with us. It was so cute.

Hello...Hello...Hello? Anybody there?

Christmas at Gran & Pa's House!
On Christmas day, we all went over for breakfast at Gran and Pa's house. Gran, Pa, and various other relatives made all sorts o' goodies. For breakfast you could choose from eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, sticky buns, orange juice, milk, tea, and coffee. I think that's it, but I may have missed some food...if so, I'm terribly sorry! Then we all sat around, talked, visited with the family, and watched TV and what not.

Then we opened presents! We got all sorts o' amazing gifts that Gran and Pa made for us. I don't have any pictures o' my presents from them...SORRY! !

Hannah opening presents. Boy did she love it.

Pa cut out each character o' the manger scene out o' wood & Gran painted details on all the pieces. It's the manger scene, but it's also a puzzle that Hannah can take apart and put together. And the best news? It's fairly indestructable. Perfect for Hannah's age! What a GREAT and FUN way to learn about the Christmas story.

Here's the manger scene puzzle.

Coloring...

...and more coloring.

I'm only going list a few things b/c there were SO many things to choose from: potato soup (which was out o' this world), li'l mini hot dog things in a tasty sauce, pulled pork sandwhiches, cheese, veggies & dip, chips, Before heading home for the Finnegan Christmas, we took a group picture. This Christmas is the first Christmas that the Finnegan Family was finally complete!

Sunday Afternoon Lunch Time.
We (Papa & Nana, Aunt Sue, Dad & Mom Finnegan, Cody & Erica...and Eli, Adam & I) ate at The Old Barn Out Back! I wish I would have had a picture o' the inside b/c it is actually a HUGE barn that you eat in. It had 3 different buffets (salad, breakfast, everything) that you could choose from. We all had a wonderful lunch and then it was time to go.

PA RIDE
Heading for Pennsylvania and some home-made pumpkin pie...(that's a song). We then traveled back to Doug and Heidi's house for the McCracken Christmas. On the way there, was a LONG 4 hour drive. So I had to occupy myself. How you may ask? Well, I had my camera with me...this is what I do!
You will now see the many faces o' Jilly!!

"Duck Face"--As Adam calls it.
"Seduction Face"--As I call it.
Which name would you call it?

"Winky Face."
