(4.21) Race for Education

Calvary Christian Academy
@ Detwiller Field

Every year, Calvary Christian Academy (my all-ma-mater) has a school wide race to raise money for the school. Each student has one hour to run as many laps around the track as they can run. Students send out letters to friends, family, etc... to be a sponsor or to just donate a flat rate. Haha...hope that was understandable. Joyce, my babysitter, has two lovely girls that go to CCA so she thought it'd be good for me to get out o' the house. I personally thought it'd be great to get the stink blown off o' me!! It was a particularly cool day, so I had to be sure to dress warm!!
Warm soccer socks were a HUGE plus!

Dressing the surgical site...it has to be warm too!

Ready to get the stink blown off me!!!

Earl was at the race too...he was dressed super warm!

Was watching some cute li'l kid playing ball...

When each student run laps around the track, they get a rubber band to put around their wrist for each lap that they have completed. At the end o' the race they count up their rubber bands.
A mother counting the "laps" ran.

After Becca ran her race, she dumped water all over her shirt...what a nut case!! She did really good on running on her laps. I'm pretty sure she ran 16 laps!!
She wouldn't smile for a good picture.

My buddy, Weston!!

Breanna taking a li'l break!

My dear sweet sister, Ashley!!

My best buddy ol' pal, Elise!

Gotta have a silly picture, duh!

Everybody praying before they run their laps.

More praying...

The organizer...TERRY SNARE!

Everybody did a great job, and they were able to raise lots o' money! Ashley burnt her face really bad, so bad that they formed blisters. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures o' her face for my blog.

3.29--Babysitting

The Phares Children

After school, I picked up the kids from school and watched them till late that evening. So I enjoyed having them over, making supper, playing games, and taking pictures.

These guys are TOUGH!

Don't cross these two...

Don't worry, they are just POSING!

Seeing how sharp the swords were...

Yup, they were sharp!!

Breanna playing the Wii!!

It wasn't all fun and games...they did their homework.
I might have given them a few pieces o' candy.

We played chess too...

Our really cool fire and ice brownies.

Bre was so proud o' her work!!

Wes had to get a picture too!

CRAZY kids...

What a great time. I didn't get any pictures o' our music recital, but it was fantastic. Wish I would've taken some videos and pictures because it was absolutely hilarious! What wonderful children! What an AMAZING family they are!! Such a fun time!

10.24--JC Blair Hospital (SUN)

Sunday
October 24, 2010.
Since we couldn't go to church, for obvious reason, I decided to use this day to remind myself o' some things God has done for me and count a few o' my blessings.

WOW!! There is so much to be thankful for with this hospital stay. (1) The first thing that I'm thankful for is my wonderful hubby!! He is incredible, and I'm totally convinced that he can do anything!! (2) Adam doesn't have to drive far to see me. He can stay later cause he doesn't have an hour drive to and from to visit. He can also get more rest and still spend time with me. So that is the biggest thing. (3) Visitors that stop by to cheer me up brighten my day. It's always very very hard when I have to get admitted into the hospital in Altoona because not too many people want to travel all the way to Altoona. So if not too many people want to travel to Altoona, that means next to no one will want to travel out to Pittsburgh. Words cannot describe how much it means to me to have visitors stop by. Whether they stop for 10 minutes or 10 hours, it's all the same for me!! (4) Another thing that I'm thankful for is the wonderful nursing staff. I truly have the greatest nurses o' all time. Some nurses can be nice and some can be SO mean. Ugh..those mean and nasty old ladies need to just retire. So there are tons o' things to be thankful for.

I had many visitors visit me today, and that was truly a wonderful time. So here are the pictures o' my day and the visitors.

Anyway, we also ended up going to the same college for two years. Tyrell is Rachelle's foster child. He's such a blessing and so full o' energy. So that is how I know Rachelle and Tyrell.
