Home @ Last!

Glad to be Home!

It's so nice to be home; however, I'm still struggling with practically being in pain at all times. The surgery is still in the works. The surgeon is to get back to me concerning whether or not he can even do the fistula surgery. I was able to fax all the pertinent information that will hopefully be needed. Until I hear from the surgeon, we will just keep on keeping on.

Smiling to be HOME!

Day 11

Last Day--SEE YA!

Due to insurance reasons, they pretty much kicked me out o' the hospital. It was very abrupt, but at least I was able to say goodbye to my nurses.

Day 10

Goodbye to JAPAN!

Today, was a sad day! It was the last day that I would get to see Japan (all the home-stay students from Japan). You see, before Juniata College opened up this past fall, some students from Japan, China, and various other places that needed a home to stay at before classes started. So like last year, we opened up our house. It was a great chance to get to know the students. Well, they were all leaving to go home to Japan for good. Chances are, we will probably never see them again, unless we travel to Japan someday. So they stopped home to visit with everyone; however, I am in the hospital, so Johnny decided to drive them all up so they could say goodbye and visit with me before they headed home. Here are some o' the pictures from their visit.

Johnny...their driver!

A nice picture o' the group.

This picture was for Johnny...he's so silly!

Peace Out...Japan! (:

It was a fabuluos time to see all the kids one last time. I will definitely miss them and it was great to be a part o' their lives. As they said goodbye, both the girls cried. When they started crying, Yusaku started laughing. In their culture, when someone is crying, everyone else starts to laugh. This is supposed to make them feel better and not cry so much. It was a great time, I will definitely miss them all. It was very nice to get to know them and learn about their family, them, and their culture.

Day 9

Monday, Monday--

I'm not sure why I am having such a hard time keeping my days straight, but today feels like Tuesday to me. Maybe b/c all o' the days sort o' run together. Sunday my friend Lindsay texted me and told me that she was planning on stopping by for a visit. All day I was SO excited for her to come by. When I was in the Altoona Hospital about a year ago, Lindsay was one o' my nurses. She was super sweet, we clicked right away, and became fast friends. Here's the funny thing, Lindsay and I have never hung out outside o' the hospital. Whenever I'm in the hospital however, she has ALWAYS stopped by and visited me. When I'm out o' the hospital, we try to get together, we can never seemto get our schedules to jive. So when she stopped by, she really cheered me up and it was good to hear about her recent engagement and wedding plans.

Board and waiting for Lindsay.

Gotta have a silly picture.

Do I have a fever? Better Check.

Here are some picture from last time I was in the hospital and Lindsay was my nurse. This was when we first met each other and decided to become friends. It seems like oh so long ago. Wow!

Me & Lindsay.
Oh, this was SO long ago.

/\/\/\ Prison Friends /\/\/\

As always, having visitors and friends stopping by really helps keep my spirits up. I got an unexpected surprise when two o' my friends that I work with at SCI-Huntingdon decided to stop by for a quick visit. It was so good to see them, they filled me in on everything at work. How thoughtful o' them to drop by and cheer me up. What great friends I am blessed with!

/\/\/\ My Secret Stash /\/\/\

Throughout the day when they bring me my food, I will stash some o' the food in the 2nd drawer o' my broken night stand in hopes that if Ace gets hungry while he is up here he can have lots o' food to choose from to snack on and eat. Dietary puts food on my tray, but my stomach isn't really feelig the whole "food" thing yet. So dietary told me they'd put a Carnation Instant Breakfast (CID) drink on every tray, and I needed to make sure to drink at least that for every meal. So I usually drink my CID, and maybe a few sips o' soup or something, and the rest all gets stashed in the secret stash drawer.

Me drinking my CIB...Yuck!

Here's Ace's Stash Drawer...

I specifically ordered chocolate cake for Ace,
b/c I knew it was his FAVORITE! (:

Snack Time:
Chocolate Ice Cream & Raspberry Water Ice.

I love this guy...

I wasn't feeling good.

Can you tell I'm flushed? Running a fever?
It's another end to a long day. Towards the evening, I was running a high fever, lots o' trips to the bathroom, and just in a lot o' pain. The doctor never stopped in today, so maybe some good news tomorrow. I'm still in the process o' trying to get a hold o'my doctor and surgeon out in Pittsburgh to try to find out when they recommend surgery and stuff. I have to decide if I want to have the surgery before/around Christmas time and possibly miss my first married Christmas with my new family...OR...if I want to spend Christmas with the family high on drugs and then surgery right after Christmas. So please continue to pray for wisdom as we have some VERY important decisions to make here in the next few days. Also, a VERY special thanks to all those who have made a special effort to stop by and visit me. I want you all to know how much o' an encouragement that is to me, it really means SO much. So Thank You!

Day 8

Food Time.

Ace didn't get home Saturday evening till late, he decided to sleep in Sunday a.m. and then drive up; however, the weather was awful. Everything was covered in a thick sheet o' ice, the roads were treacherous, accident after accident flooded the scanner, and church was canceled. Ace called me around 11 to let me know how terrible the roads were, and that he wouldn't be coming till it got warmer and the roads melted a bit. So Ace didn't arrive till 2.

Supper with my honey!

The leftovers that I didn't want from my supper tray wasn't quite enough to fill Ace's starving stomach. So he decided to walk down to the main floor for yet another sub from Subway. (This is probably his 5th sub from there.) I'm actually not real sure what he would do if there was no Subway here. Oh I know, he'd probably STARVE!! (:

Yet another Subway Sub.
Sweet Onion, Chicken Terriyaki .

Remember the other day when Ace brought me a cell phone charger for my present? Well, it was broken too! Why does that not surprise me? Anyway, he had to bring me back up my old, broken cell phone charger back up here so I could charge it. It would only charge if it was in a certain position.

My phone positioned correctly so it could charge.

Some weird mark on my leg, doesn't it look cool?

/\/\/\ The Wilt Family /\/\/\

It was super nice to see Kiley and Bob. It never fails, if I'm in the hospital, they come and visit me. We had fun taking pictures, swapping stories, and laughing at anything and everything. I'm very blessed to have such wonderful friends.

Nurses & Pickle Juice

I'm very lucky in that all o' my nurses are the sweetest. I'm working on trying to get a picture o' all my nurses. Jan was my morning shift (6-2) nurse for Sunday. Here she is:

Jan (My RN).

My Nurse Bekah. The second shift 2-11 nurse. I've had her for like 3 days in a row!! She loves me, and I bet secretly EVERY evening she requests to have me for her patient.

WAHOO...Gotta love my pain shot!! (:
Every time that a nurse enters my room, they are required to ask if me if there is anything that I need. Usually I decline; however, I was having extreme nausea, so I requested for some pickle juice. My nurse, Bekah, made it her mission to locate some pickle juice for me.

Bekah found me some pickle juice.

I wrote on the container so everyone would know.

Drinking Pickle Juice for my upset stomach.

It did help settle my nausea in my stomach.
Doesn't the pickle juice color look sweet?

Visit from the boys--Ace & Johnny

It is always great to have visitors, so it was so nice to hang out with them. We spent the evening talking, texting, oh and watching Spiderman III & some Scary Movie. Also, because I didn't have a lot o' visitors earlier, I decided to take LOTS o' pictures.
