Altoona Trip...

Recently, after Ashley's medical issues we started talking and exchanging pain/hospital stories. In the end, I hope to have encouraged her, cause I KNOW that she has encouraged me. So, Ashley (my sister) and I decided to take a day and do TONS o' shoppin' up in the big city o' Altoona. We also decided to take LOTS o' pictures. We got to the end o' the day, and it was time for Ashley to go home, and guess how many pictures we took...NONE!! Yup, that's right! So we took 5 minutes before driving home to take pictures o' everything we had done throughout the day!! (: Enjoy! (:

So...the story? We went to Michael's to get all my scrapbooking stuff b/c that's gonna be my newest "hobbie'...haha... We shall see how long it lasts. Anyway, it was WAY overwhelming looking at the hundreds o' racks o' papers and the millions o' racks o' stickers. I knew that I needed paper for my Christmas pictures, so I started picking out all the green and red papers...after I got 20 papers for my Christmas section, I realized I wouldn't be making 20 pages o' Christmas 2009!! Haha...so anyway it was a crazy time! Finally, after approximately 2 hours browsing thru all the scrap-booking and we ended up with a BIG bill (which I used ALL my Christmas money) and lots o' supplies! (:

While Ashley was trying on jeans at Old Navy, I sat at the kiddie table and colored her a picture. (Oh, and I made myself a "Ta Do" List!) (:

I actually made food that Ashley liked!! (: Haha...We had Italian/BBQ Chicken, scalloped potatoes, and corn! It was DELISH! Oh, and the strawberry syrup was for my milk!! LOVE strawberry milk!! (:

This is my new decoration for my house...it's IRISH, a shamrock for our home...oh, and it has li'l bell things that will jingle when guest come into our house...so come visit so you can see our door thing!! (: YEAH!!! I love being super IRISH!

CONGRATS TO CODY & ERICA

Well, it's official...Cody and Erica just had their baby! We are very excited and hope to be able to either fly or drive out there soon to visit them...all THREE o' them! I'm sure both Cody & Erica will have to get used to many sleepless nights, but what a great honor and responsibility o' a precious li'l baby!

NAME: Elias (Eli) Lee Finnegan
BORN: 1.8.10 @ 1530 p.m.
WEIGHT: 7 lbs & 10 oz
HEIGHT: 20" long!
LOOK: He has a lot o' DARK hair and a squishy face!

Our Christmas...

First Christmas as a Married Couple... For our very first Christmas together, we decided to not spend any money or very li'l money...so funny story...we each spent a good bit o' money on each other. Haha...(: That's love!!

Here is the latest and greatst update as o' December. I spent 3 days down at UPMC meeting with the surgeon there to try to figure out what our next step should be. As o' August, I have been experiencing extreme pain and various other problems. After meeting with my GI doctor, getting an MRI, CT scan, and nurmersou other tests, the doctor concluded that I had a fistula. A fistula is an abnormal connection or assageway between 2 organs or vessels. In lay-men's terms...due to the friction between my organs (intestines & uterus), it had created a hole in my intestines and my uterus.

Monday, after meeting with my surgeon (Dr. Wolfgang Schraut), he advised me that he would be running a series o' tests to figure out where the fistula was located exactly. Yippy-Ky-I-Yay! I had to be at the office at 5 a.m. bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to go! (:

The weather was TERRIBLY snowing.

We sawl 3 accidents w/in 1 mile.

...but we finally made it to UPMC.

PROCEDURE TIME . . .

After trying numerous times to get an IV started, they called the anesthesiologist to come take a look. Where do you think he found a good vein? Yeah...my flippin' foot!! Let me just tell you that it hurt EXTREMELY bad, but I'm glad they were able to get it in! Here it is! Aren't my nails lovely?
