Truck Accident

Snow Storm
February 9, 2010

There was a huge snow storm that rendered our street covered in snow. We live in town, and sometimes the roads are cleared pretty well; however, sometimes they are not so nice.

Icicles hanging from the porch roof.

Lots and Lots o' Snow.

THE NEXT DAY
February 10, 2010

With the snow comes terrible road conditions, such as oh, maybe an ACCIDENT!!! Now just because there is snow everywhere doesn't mean that you can blame TERRIBLE driving on the conditions. Sometimes, there are just IDIOT drivers!

Our Sidewalk--notice how clear it is!

Mifflin Street: Our two-lane, one-way street.

The spot that Adam cleaned out,
...for OUR vehicles!!

Now that you can visualize how the street is set up, I will try to demonstrate how the accident happened. Hopefully you can follow my explanation. Adam was on his way home from work at 12:00 for lunch. He pulled up to the corner o' the street, getting ready to turn right on "Mifflin Street". Adam turned right and headed up the right side o' the street. Because Adam cleaned his spot out so well, whenever we leave, we put a chair in his place to "hold" our spot. Adam pulled the truck up past the chair, parked the truck, got out o' the truck to go move the chair. When he got to the chair, a delivery truck drove past Adam's parked truck.
Adam moved the chair and headed back to the truck to move it into "his spot", and past his truck was a delivery truck in the left lane that was moving backwards. This was confirmed when he heard the "beep"..."beep" sound. Adam started walking to his truck, and in unbelief watched the delivery truck back over the bumper, across the hood, finally resting on the windshield. The next sound resembled a "bamalo-crash-boom-bang-bust" sound as the windshield shattered!

The young, delivery truck driver (Mark) got out and exchanged information with Adam. Then, Mark drove away, and Adam's Chevy Silvarado was left undrivable. Adam was able to move the truck a couple feet so it was out o' the street. My dad came down and helped Adam put a cover over the truck cause another snow storm was coming.

Later that night, snow started falling.
Good thing we had it tucked in tight!

MORE ACCIDENT PICTURES...
February 11, 2010

Here, the truck is pulled out o' the way, with the cover on . Notice our empty space behind that we have cleared out for MY car now. As you can see this picture was taken after the storm, leaving the truck snowed in....more fun shoveling for Adam to do!! (:

The shattered windshield...

Shoveling out and brushing off the truck.
Yeah, more work for Adam.

Front View: doesn't look to bad, right?

Windshield, broken glass, snow...poor truck.

Inside view o' the basketball size hole.
What Adam would have seen IF he was in the truck.
His legs = pancakes!!

Driver's door...wee bit bent.

Front View: HUGE Crack, lots o' li'l shatter.

TOW TRUCK TIME!
February 15, 2010

The accident took place on February 9th...now they come and get the truck, February 15th. What is wrong with this picture? Well, they just took for-flippin ever to get everything taken care o'. We'd been calling for DAYS for a truck to come and carry our poor beat-up, smashed, wounded truck to the shop. Here are the pictures o' the wonderful truck taker (he was a really nice guy) taking our truck! (:

YEAH!! The Tow Truck came...FINALLY!

Getting Loaded Up!!

Up...up...and taking it AWAY!

Mr. Tow Truck Man.
(He looks cold!)

Adam was super happy to be DONE with everything.

Away it goes...

Adam talking to our neighbor, Mr. Martin.
Our truck was parked in front o' Mr. Martin' house for 5 days. Mr. Martin had NO clue that the truck was unable to be driven. I guess we DID have a car cover over it, so you really couldn't tell. But it still was funny that he had no clue. But here they are talking about accidents, and it was starting to snow again as you can see here...yeah...more chance for an accident!! I also love how they both look SO cold and the snow is falling down.

Me looking like an ESKIMO!

Gotta Have a Feet Picture, right?

We finally realized we could no longer go and function a normal life w/o our other car. So we broke down and went over to the office, told them our predicament, and said, "We would like our car here, by 4!" Thank you! And sure enough. The car was there at 4! So, here is our new rental: Chevy HHR! It's nice for me!! Not a car I would go out and buy, the windshield is a li'l tiny, but I do like driving it for a change (If Adam will every let me drive it!!) (: Here's a picture o' it. It is even this color!! (:

Chevy HHR--Our Rental Car.
Hey, that rhymed!

THE END!!
...hopefully for a LONG time....
