UPMC--Nurses & Drs!

UPMC--Doctor's & Nurses.

Me & Beth.

Me & T...One o' My Favorites.

Dr. K...he did my last surgery in March.
Just decided to visit me.

This is one o' the GI Doctor's, Dr. Dorothy Fink. One o' my favorite things about this doctor was her sweet spirit. She was contently telling me about how I was a trooper, making me laugh, and just encouraging me. Another thing about Dr. Dorothy (that's what he told me to call her), she commented on my mail. Everyday when she was making her "rounds", she would always deliver my mail and comment on how much mail she was bringing me. She said she never met a patient that got numerous e-letters everyday. Anyway, it was great getting to know Dr. Dorothy, and she was so much fun b/c she didn't put me under and gut me like a fish!! (: Haha...

UPMC--Makeover, G-Ma, & Boys...

Thursday, May 6, 2010.
UPMC Montefiore
10 West, Room 38!

I was SOO grateful to have had my sister with me when Ace and my mother couldn't stay with me; however, my sister was WONDERFUL. She was willing to give up being with her family, rocking her li'l boy to sleep, and just overall self-lessness. My family is so amazing!! (:

/\/\/\Heidi Gives Jill a Makeover./\/\/\

After 5 days o' constant yorking, I was finally able to get up and move around. Heidi was oh so kind to help me with my shower, wash my hair, dry my hair, and then even curl my hair. YEAH for being clean!! (: YEAH for sisters!

Just a li'l tad bit o' information, the last time Heidi curled my hair was when I graduated high school. I was crying SO hard and begging mom to make her stop. Thankfully mom didn't make her stop and I looked stunning! Haha...oh that was a fun time.

I love my sister!

/\/\/\GRAMMA SARA VISITS/\/\/\

Gramma Sara came to visit me. A friend o' hers had a doctors appointment down here at UPMC, she found out I was down her, so she decided to ride down. I told her that I had to get a picture o' me and her together. She told me that she hated her picture taken and had to respectfully refuse. Needless to say, I had to have proof that she came to visit me b/c she will be 90 years old in just a few weeks. Anyway, I told her that we could take a picture o' our feet, which as you can see, she accepted!

/\/\/\BOYS PHOTOSHOOT/\/\/\

Johnny (my brother) rode down with my mother so he could visit me down here at UPMC. So he visited me for about 1 hour and then Jason and Vick came down to pick him up. Before the boys all left, I hadn't gone for my walk for the day yet so they decided to take me for my walk to the healing garden. Yes, that is really what it is called. We took the camera...thus the pictures.

UPMC--Pancreatitis/Abcess.

UPMC--Monetfiore (10 West, Room 38)

On Saturday (May 1) at 6 a.m., I woke up from my sleep and began vomiting. It continued every hour like clock work and I couldn't eat a thing. Even sips o' water made me sick and made me york everywhere. Ace and I sat on the porch trying to get some sun and I even yorked into my neighbor's flowers...whoops. What are you going to do, right? So Saturday evening I couldn't take it any longer and I went to the J.C. Blair ER. They did some tests but concluded it was probably a stomach virus due to some o' the blood work. I was dehydrated, but they couldn't get an IV in me, so they just told me to leave. As I was leaving I was still vomiting. The medicine they gave me didn't really help...at all!!

Saturday (May 2) began the same way. At 6 a.m., I was grabbing for my york bowl and it was every hour again. By this time my stomach from my surgery was all wrenched and killing me. I tried to tough it out and made it thru the day, even though it was really rough. Ace did such a wonderful job taking care o' me and cleaning out my yorking bowl and cleaning me up. What a great husband I have!! (:

Monday, Ace went to work at 6:45. I was up again yorking all morning. Because this whole ordeal was diagnosed as a "stomach virus", I didn't want to get anyone else sick, so I asked Johnny to babysit me. (: He did a wonderful job. By 9 a.m., I called my PCP (Dr. Buza), who told me to go to the ER. Johnny took me to the ER. I was in pain, throwing up and it took FOREVER to get seen. We arrived at the ER at 9:45 a.m., the doctor came in to see me at 1:30 p.m.!! They were scared with everything that was going on, so Dr. Roth sent me to Pitt by Ambulance. I arrived Monday evening at 10 p.m.!

Tuesday, I was sick and throwing up. The labwork wasn't good either. My pancreatic enzymes and liver enzymes were elevated. I spent the day curled up in the bed feeling nauseous. They gave me morphine for the pain; however, 20 seconds after administering the morphine I started to york instantly! The morhpine didn't touch the pain I was in. They changed my dose from morhphine to diladid on Wednesday. Heidi has been here Tuesday and Wednesday and was able to help me out. Ace couldn't take off work this week, and Mama had to teach this week. Tuesday evening, Heidi helped me take a shower and wash my hair. (I should have asked her to braid my hair like last time in the hospital...Haha...)

Wednesday, I only threw up at 9 a.m. The doctor's came in and said they felt I had a severe case o' pancreatitis with a possible abcess. They are both treated the same way--fluids to keep me hydrated, pain medicine, and nausea medicine. Also Today I was able to go outside for lunch. Heidi packed her lunch o' egg salad sandwhich and I had a popsicle. We walked out to the garden and it was a lovely day. I took some pictures and got some sun!! (:

Here are the pictures:

The Lovely Garden.

Me and my buddy--IV!

Enjoying the sun!!

Gorgeous Day!

I fed the birds some o' Heidi's chips! (:

My pet bird eating Heidi's chips! (:
This cheered me up A LOT!

The sun cheered me up! (:

FEET PICTURE!! (:

Heidi updating everybody! (:

See my lovely tan lines?! (:

So the final verdict is I'm getting better. They feel that it is pancreatitis, with a possible abscess or bowel obstruction. I'm so thankful for Heidi who has been here with me and really helped me since Ace and Mama couldn't be here! So that's the end. Things are looking better! (: YEAH!!

Stitches in Pitt

Adam took off work to take me up to Pittsburgh so that the surgeon could remove my 8 stitches. Oh the excitement! Of course, I had to document our trip!! Here are some o' the pictures that were taken.

Behold, the City o' Pittsburgh.

Getting Closer Now.

My Belly...Stitch FREE!!

Can you count 8 Stitches?

When I was sick, Adam promised to take me to the gardens if I lived...well, got better! So after my stitches were out, we walked like 500 miles to the Gardens. I was worried I wouldn't make it back. It was very tiring.
At the Gardens.

Without the Hat.

All went well!
Stitches were Out.

Little League Game

Some o' my babysitters that watch me have kids that play sports. So They take me to their games. How fun is that! A newly wed couple that hasn't been married for a year yet, going to other people's kids games.

My camera did this weird thing to me.

Me in my cocoon.

Adam made it to the game too!!

There is this funny story about how wherever I sit, the baseball is hit in my general area. And precisely as foretold...a ball from the Jr. High Baseball game came right at me and hit Ashley right in the head and bounced over the instruction league over the fence. We nominated Julia to retrieve it for us. She obliged, we got pictures.

Jumping OVER the fence.

Grabbing the ball
(Note the li'l kids in the background)

...and jumping back over.

The evening was fun.
We got FREEZING cold.
But we were able to watch the game!
