1.27-31...Altoona Hospital (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun)

On January 20th, I had a doctor's appointment. The PA, Rich determined that I was having a flair. Instead o' admitting me in the hospital, we decided to try taking prednisone (steroids) by mouth to see if that would help. I took the medication faithfully, and returned to the office after a week. Dr. McKibbin was to decide if we were going to increase the prednisone, decrease the prednisone, or get admitted with IV prednisone. Obviously, he decided on admitting me. After getting to the hospital, I was NPO, which means I couldn't have ANYTHING to eat or drink. He hoped that the IV steroids would absorb faster then if taken by mouth, he also wanted my bowels to rest completely for a couple o' days.

My honey, beside me every step o' the way.

Jasmine told me, "You're too cute to be sick!"

Yogi...we worked together at prison.

Kylie stopped by to visit.

She painted my nails to cheer me up!
Have I mentioned, I love polka dots?

Finished product...what do you think?

First time painting French Tip.

This is my sad face...

Finally ALL done. YEAH!

Thanks Kylie!

Screaming cause I kept smearing them!

During one o' my hospitalizations about 3 years ago, I met a nurse named Lindsay. We were meant to be friends. The next 17 days, Lindsay took care o' me, got me broth, made my bed, talked and giggled together, and exchanged cell phone numbers. I'd like to think I helped her preparing for nursing school, cause she quit working at the hospital and went back to school to be a RN. Since then, we've been texting buddies (a week hardly passes in which we don't text each other at least one time) and hospitalization buddies (every time I'm in the hospital, Lindsay comes to visit me).
Lindsay & Me.

We're matching!!

Us with Adam
...
he is the thorn, we're the roses!

At this particular visit, I got to meet Lindsay's Mother. Since an apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I should have known her mother was going to be amazing. It was so great to finally meet her.
Lindsay's sweet, sweet mother!

Mother/Daughter...

Thanks for the visit, girls!

So after the visitor's left, Adam crawled into my hospital bed, I laid my head on his shoulder. Later, I fell asleep and my head rolled off his shoulder and down to his chest. A li'l bit later, I woke up, only to find I'd left a BIG slobber spot on his sweatshirt! Haha...poor guy!
Funny Story...

Dr. Ryan...he's my new favorite!

I thought this picture was hilarious b/c I look like a ghost. Also, heads up if anybody asks Adam to take a picture, he does this thing where he takes a picture while everyone is getting situated, so it catches everybody off guard. This one wasn't too bad, he only was able to catch Jill!

The Thompson Family stopped by.

Now we were ready for this picture!

Kara & Kate...how cute are they?

Look...a JILL picture!! (:

Wonderful Nurse, Cornelia!

BLAAA....

My Candy Bucket...YUMMY!!

So I am not allowed to eat or drink anything, they want my belly to rest completely. To keep my mouth from getting too dry and cotton mouthed, they gave me the "Super Special Stick Sponge". I told Adam that it reminded me o' when Jesus was on the cross and they dipped a sponge in vinegar and fed it to him...except mine wasn't dipped in vinegar. So this was the only liquid I was allowed to have.
Super Special Sponge.

My IV with fishnet stocking thing...

Dear sweet Kira...

The girls all did well...we had a rough beam and vault, but our floor was really great. We really had come a long way from when we had our first meet. Sorry, I don't have any pictures to post from our first meet. Ugh...I'm really starting to slack!!

We have three different levels o' teams. Because our B-Team has too many girls, we had to split them into two teams. Everyone did a great job, we were very proud o' them all!

1.17--Chinese Meal

Juniata College is located in Huntingdon, more specifically 3 blocks from our house. Juniata offers an Intensive English Language Program for international students from literally all over the world. It seems like we have gotten so many students, but it's mainly because most o' the students in this program are only here in America to work on the English...it's like for them, "studying abroad", if that makes sense. Anyway, Adam and I housed another Chinese girl, Shan Li; however, she was very shy and I felt like I really didn't really get a good chance to bond. My mother's Chinese daughter, Ivy was so sweet. So at the end o' the week, Ivy and her friend Ji Ping made a traditional Chinese meal for us. We were excited for a chance to try new food, and the girls were soo excited to make the meal for us.

They put lettuce in the boiling water.

After 5 minutes, it was done.

A few eggs...mixed with a chop-stick!! (:

Chinese Vegetable Noodles (left) & Hot sauce (right)
The noodles are made out o' vegetables, so they are very healthy. They looked just like spaghetti noodles that are a green color. The sauce packet on the right is added for flavor. There are different areas o' China that are known for their spicy foods. Ivy's hometown they love hot and spicy foods, so she brought the pack o' hotness! I tried it, it was indeed quite hot, but as long as it wasn't heaped on I liked it.

Gotta have some tomatoes?

Ivy cutting the tomatoes.
(She's so cute!!)

What a lovely job Ivy did...

The spicy bowl o' noodles...HOTT!

The dish sounds much cooler in Chinese:
In English -- Tomato Noodle.

Close up o' my food.
Can you see the green noodles? Eggs? Tomatoes? Lettuce?

It was soo delish!! Also, as you can see from the ingredients, it's ALL healthy. The noodles are made out o' veggies. Ivy told us that that is why most Chinese people are skinny, because they can eat two bowels o' this Tomato Noodle and it's not a big deal because there's no real seasoning in it. We really enjoyed getting to experience REAL Chinese food. Ivy and her friend, Jay Ping enjoyed hanging out and letting us taste food from their home!

1.3--Wii Set Up.

For Christmas, we all had picked names to exchange for the presents. It made it less o' a hassle to just by something nice for just one person! Well, Johnny, my brother who is a very rich man, got Ace and I a Wii for Christmas. It was sooo awesome. We were so excited to get it set up. In the next few weeks, when we have a Wii-Night, I'll try to take more pictures...Here are some pictures o' Ace hookin' everything up!! YEAH!!

Ace the Handy Man, Wii Setter-upper!

Hmm...what should our Wii's name be?

Console Nickname.......John-Wayne-Wii!!
Named after the guy who got it for us!!

This is Adam's Mii-Wii Man.

Isn't it scary...she looks like me, right?
Please note--the beautiful lip mark mole.

Our Wii is so awesome!! Our Wii-Mii's are all made and ready to compete. Can't wait to get some more games and show off my super sweet Wii-Skills!!
