2.2--Altoona Hospital (Wed).

The roads this week have been really crappy and not so good to drive on. Lots o' school delays, early dismissals, and even a cancellation. So when the weather is bad, everyone gets scared to travel. This hospitalization has been very lonely due to the fact that nobody wanted to drive in the bad weather.

I am very thankful for my family all driving up to visit me today! It was very nice to see Ray, Linda, and Gram. Gram had a follow-up doctor's appointment today (Wednesday) from her hip surgery. The doctor said that she was doing really well, and at this appointment her doctor would be making the decision on whether or not Gram would be allowed to drive!! At church on Sunday, Gram asked for prayer that the doctor would say, "yes"; however, when the asked for prayer request from my mother, her prayer was that the doctor would say, "no!" Haha...so what did the lady praying ask God for...."yes" or "no"...? Well, she prayed that God's will be done. So you can imagine the BIG grin on Gram's face when she heard the wonderful news that he said YES!

Linda and Gram stopped by for a visit.
Please notice how proud Gram is o' her hip x-ray!

When she walked in to see her doctor, she was twirling her cane and doing a li'l jig. She also made sure that doctor sawl how she invented how to bend/swing down to pick up something on the floor. Gram had the doctor rolling in laughter...she's such a hoot! One day I want to be just like her. She makes me giggle!! My gram is so awesome...LOVE her!
Gram and her twirling cane.

After work, Mama heard that Adam wasn't going to be up and that Ray, Linda, and Gram were the only ones that stopped by. So she decided to make a trip up and she spent the evening with me. We watched some movies, and Mama played with my hair and scratched my back. Let me just tell you...I miss Mama scratching my back and playing with my hair!

Haha...Mama and her eyes that never close.

Haha...and I thought was the one on drugs!

Ah...FINALLY this one is better!!
SO thankful for such a wonderful family willing to brave the bad weather to come visit me, bring some cheer, and brighten my day! I just love my family!

Friday, July 2, 2010.

Woke up this a.m. to spend some quality friend time with Scottie, one o' the guards that I work with at the prison. It was nice just to be able to sit and talk to him. He's got the cutest li'l baby girl and we looked at pictures o' her. Boy, she sure is getting big!! (: I can always count on a picture o' the baby to make me feel better!
Scottie & ME.

Silly face...this one makes me smile!

Thanks Scottie for stopping by to cheer me up.

PICC LINE
--------------------------
In the a.m. one o' the nurses stopped by to clean my PICC Line. It was all covered with blood and bruised badly. So the nurse stopped by to fix up the dressing. This also means covering it with alcohol and ointment that cleans the wound, or should I say burn like mad!
All Bloody and Messy.

PICC Line, with the stitches.

Pretty Stitches, right? They give it some color.

Can you see the incision where they cut into me?

Teresa proud o' a job well done.

Nurses & Doctors

Some more o' my nurses that have dealt with my case and gotten to know me. It's been great to continue to see the Lord put many different nurses and doctors in my life. They will never know how much some o' them have made an impact on my life and how encouraging they have been.
Me & Nurse Kathy.

Gotta love my pain shot, right?

My Favorite PA, Rich Richard.
NOTE: He didn't break my camera!

Ambulance Trip to UPMC
--------------------------
Michelle and her mother stopped by around 4:00 p.m. to drop off some smell goods (lotion). When They arrived, my things weren't packed and the A-Med Team had arrived. So needless to say it was crazy trying to get all my stuff together, figuring out what we needed, seeing what was not needed, trying to condense it into as few bags as possible, all this while only being able to move so far because o' the lovely IV leash! Thank the Lord Michelle and Mama Lamborn were there at that time. They helped me finish packing, then they also took some o' my extra stuff home from the hospital (in Altoona) to my house (in Huntingdon) so that I wouldn't have as much to take to Pittsburgh (UPMC)! Again, Praise The Lord for such wonderful friends who are such a great support to me during this time.
Michelle, Me, & Mama Lamborn.

Ready to Leave in the Ambulance. YAY!
4:15 p.m. ---leaving Altoona.

--------------------------
Arriving at UPMC, Montefiore
--------------------------
I arrived in Pittsburgh around 5:40 p.m. Then I ended up waiting for them to give me my pain shot. It took them FOREVER!! Eventually around 9:15 p.m. I was able to get my pain shot. Because it had taken so long to receive the medication, by the time I had received the injection the pain was so bad that it didn't even touch the extreme pain that I was in. Dr. Rizvix (Internal Medicine) was on call and is my attending physician. She was able to see how much pain I was in and was able to batta-boom, batta bing get me coverage. So that was all good! She was very compassionate and even tried to get my medicine in me before she started poking around on my belly. Thank the Lord for nice doctors, right?
Dr. Rizvix--General Medicine.

Amanda RN, Night Nurse--Another Favorite.

Isn't she just so darling?

Diane Alexander, Nurse Administrator.
She was in charge o' updating my record information, emergency contacts, address, insurance, updated pill list, past medical history, and any other pertinent information. When Diane walked in the door she stated, "So I hear that you are really nice in this room." That's when I asked her for her picture. She was so flattered that I'd asked to get my picture taken with her, that she said I was by far her favorite patient so far.
Me & Nurse Diane.

All in all I guess the admission process went fairly smoothly. The only complaint was waiting 7-8 hours before I got my pain medication, so I wasn't a ball o' thunder when the doctor (Dr. Rizvix) came in to see me. In some ways it was good so that they could see the pain level my body is experiencing.

THE END!!!

30-- CD...Vogels, Gearharts, & Amy.

Altoona Regional Hospital
Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

It's been great to see the Lord work through different people during these tough times. I got a phone call from a cell phone number that I didn't recognize. Low and behold it was Glenda Vogel, a sweet lady from my church. She said that she was going to a hair place to get her hair cut and all done up, she had heard that I'd been looking for this special shampoo that my doctor had recommend. Because o' my extreme alopecia (hair loss) from not getting enough nutrients, my doctor suggested I start using this medicated shampoo. If I didn't start something soon, I would began to go bald. So it was awesome to hear that Glenda had a coupon and felt she wanted to help me out in this way. So she did. She went and got her hair all fixed up and then got me my medicated shampoo moose stuff, and some other vitamins.

Me, "special shampoo", & Glenda.

Jill, "That was the picture taker button!"

Glenda the good witch from the something?

Amy stopped by for a quick visit and she said, "Jill, I think you have a white hair! Although my hair is falling out in clumps, I was willing to sacrifice this long strand o' white hair! Holy crap, does this mean I'm getting old? Or does it mean that I'm getting wiser?
Can you see the white hair?

Me & Amy, she's another one o' my besties!

Thanks to all o' you who took time out o' your day to come by and cheer me up! You may not think a few minutes o' your day is just a few minute, but you will never know how much it means to me. Seriously! I love you all!! I am truly blessed with the greatest friends on this earth, I promise! I love you all so much!!

I finally was able to get my very lovely room around 5:30 a.m.! I was thankful again for Alisha spending the wee mornin' hours with me especially when everyone else was not around. I couldn't ask for such a wonderful friend who was willing to give up her night to be an encouragement to me!
Thanks Alisha.

Stephen & Steph Fisher

The wee hours o' the night had come and gone. Also, I didn't have the hospital lab top. It's so funny how this lap top has picture files on it. The only pictures that are on this computer are hospital pictures. Quite funny, eh? Anyway, I was able to get a hole o' Stephen and Stephanie Fisher to see if they would be willing to bring some things that I needed from the house that I hadn't had time to get in the short time I had to pack all my things. The things that they needed to bring that I needed were:
(1) My Hospital Lap Top.
(2) My Humira Injection.
(3) My Camera Card Reader.

They did such a wonderful job in finding all the things on the list and bringing them up to me. Wow! What great friends! (:
Steph helping me with my injection.

Stephen wishing he did the injection.

Can you find 7 differences between the pictures?

Justin and Jesse stopped by to visit with me as well and to try to cheer me up. Well, let me just tell you that they did a heck o' a job in completing their assignment! They are such wonderful brothers! (:
The Three o' Us! (:

Me & My Li'l Brudder...MUAH!

Justin & I...Silly Faces!

"Wait, I forgot, my glasses!"

Me & My Daddy!
No, your eyes are not playing tricks with you. My father really did make it to the hospital to visit with me. We all know how much dad doesn't like to travel; however, he was such a great sport about coming down to visit me. We also got together and watched America's Got Talent. We were all dying laughing and it was a great time. I just love my daddy!! (:

Impression---
(1) Found Retroverted Uterus.
(2) Also showed a Tilted Cervix.
*In English*
Normally the uterus is in a straight vertical position. My uterus is tipped backwards toward the back of my pelvis. The tilted position makes it more prone to rub up against my intestines, making fistulas easier to form.

NORMAL ME (Not So Normal)

Treatment Plan---
~Surgery to reposition the uterus. A uterine suspension can typically reduce the pain experienced. This surgical procedure is used to reposition a tipped uterus from its backward facing position to a forward facing position.
~The UPLIFT procedure is a newer and improved method of performing a uterine suspension. It has been proven to have fewer postoperative complications than other uterine suspension procedures. Uterine repositioning provides lasting pain relief in most cases.
~The "Knee-chest" exercise may help reposition a tipped uterus temporarily. However, this exercise will not be effective if the uterus has become tipped because of endometriosis, fibroid tumors, or pelvic infections.

~
I also met with the surgeon here at the hospital; however since I'm not the typical "normal" Crohn's Case, he said if there would be any options o' surgery, he'd prefer I get transferred to UPMC.

~I will also be continuing to take the anti-inflammatory medications (Solu-Medrol) three times a day.

THE END!!!
